One of the original founders of Faile, Aiko Nakagawa (Aiko) was born in Tokyo and currently resides in NYC. Aiko left her hometown of Tokyo and moved to New York in 1996, after graduating from Tokyo Zokei University and where she majored in graphic design and film. She had previously visited the tribal villages in Vietnam, Thailand and Laos to work on a documentary film project and this experience had sparked in her a growing interest in foreign cultures and lifestyles. The streets of New York instantly became her playground and classroom and providing both artistic inspirations and life lessons.
