Alana Richards

Born in Cork, Ireland, 1985, Alana Richards has taken an early fascination with street and graphic representations of popular culture and developed an intensely personal style that straddles an uncomfortable space between control and chaos.

Since leaving Ireland behind officially for Paris and currently residing in Berlin, Alana has sought to examine the verifications of objective decline that, she contends is the inevitable result of decadence and self indulgent lifestyles.

Her work employs seductive methods of composition characterized by a dedicated, almost constant self-criticism and personal re-evaluation and an unwillingness to allow herself to be restrained by conventional approaches.
